È definito da molti il nuovo “oro verde”. Ma quali sono le caratteristiche del mercato?
Alcuni lo definiscono il nuovo “oro verde”, altri ne parlano come di una bolla speculativa. Si tratta del bambù, la pianta che tutti conosciamo e che per molti sembra essere il business del momento. Solo due settimane fa, il Corriere della Sera chiariva che solo lungo la via Emilia sarebbero 100 gli ettari coltivati con la pianta cinese soprattutto nella provincia di Ravenna seguita da Bologna, Modena e Ferrara). In Italia, complessivamente, sono 1.500 gli ettari coltivati. Le aziende del settore parlano di numerosi mercati nei quali le coltivazioni di bambù possono garantire un’ottima resa: alimentare, legname e arredamento sono solo le principali.Fino a oggi, il mercato europeo ha valorizzato l’aspetto ornamentale della pianta: i vivai che producevano bambù puntavano sull’aspetto estetico, dimenticandone le caratteristiche salienti: il bambù è infatti utilizzato in Oriente per la produzione di legname e germogli alimentari, che qui sono quasi sconosciuti.“La rendita del bambù dipende molto dal tipo di management con cui si amministrano gli appezzamenti.Il terreno dev’essere fertile, irrigato e arato con costanza. “La piena produzione arriva col quinto anno, anche se nel terzo anno si comincia a raccogliere qualche germoglio nelle piantagioni che sono tenute meglio. In Cina, ho visto piantagioni che dopo quattro anni producevano 22mila kg per anno, una cifra che noi non garantiamo mai ai nostri agricoltori. Noi parliamo un range che oscilla tra i 5mila e i 10mila kg annui.
