Tra le colture con maggiore incremento ci sono ortaggi, cereali, vite e olivo
Boom del biologico in Italia, con un incremento del 20% delle superfici coltivate e degli operatori. Secondo le elaborazioni effettuate dal SINAB, per il ministero delle politiche agricole, le superfici coltivate con metodo biologico in Italia nel 2016 hanno raggiunto quota 1.795.650, rispetto agli 1,5 milioni del 2015.
Lo dichiara all’ANSA il ministro Maurizio Martina. In termini assoluti, nell’ultimo anno, sono stati convertiti al biologico oltre 300 mila ettari. Crescono anche gli operatori che salgono a 72.154 (+20,3%).
«Il modello agricolo italiano - commenta Martina - si conferma tra i più sostenibili in Europa». «Stiamo lavorando - ha proseguito Martina - con una programmazione seria per il sostegno al biologico e i risultati ci dicono che la strada è giusta. Oltre alle risorse europee stanziate con le regioni, per 1,5 miliardi fino al 2020, abbiamo introdotto per la prima volta le mense biologiche certificate e rafforzato le norme sui controlli. La sostenibilità è sempre più una chiave centrale di competitività per il sistema agroalimentare italiano».
Tra le colture con maggiore incremento ci sono gli ortaggi (+48,9%), cereali (+32,6%), vite (+23,8%) e olivo (+23,7%). Per quanto riguarda la distribuzione regionale delle superfici biologiche, la maggiore estensione è registrata in Sicilia con 363.639 ettari, cui seguono la Puglia con 255.831 ettari e la Calabria con 204.428 ettari
